Sound Shore Medical gets third exclusivity extension for negotiations

New York, April 30 - Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester received approval of its third extension of its exclusive plan of reorganization filing and solicitation periods, according to an April 30 order with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The company's exclusive filing period was extended through June 23 from April 24 and its solicitation period through Aug. 22 from June 23.

As previously reported, Sound Shore cited ongoing plan negotiations with committee counsel regarding closing conditions of the company's asset sale as cause for the extension.

Sound Shore, a New Rochelle, N.Y., medical center, filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy on May 29, 2013. Its Chapter 11 case number is 13-22840.
