Shearman & Sterling finance partner Ronan Wicks transfers to London

Columbus, Ohio, Sept. 3 – Shearman & Sterling finance partner Ronan Wicks has relocated to the firm’s London office from New York, according to a Thursday press release.

Wicks joins European finance partner Steve Sherman to bolster the firm’s finance capabilities in Europe and the United States with a particular focus on the term loan B market.

Wicks advises financial institutions in connection with acquisition financings, asset-based facilities, workouts, general financings and special situations, including in the middle market.

Wicks and Sherman will work closely with European clients to provide legal counsel on the rapidly evolving term loan B market in addition to broader aspects regarding the United States’ debt capital markets such as investment grade acquisition financing.

“As we see an increasing number of European clients turn to the term loan B market for their funding needs, Ronan and Steve will be working with our clients in the UK and Europe to further enhance our cross-border capabilities and apply knowledge from the US market into European structures,” Anthony Ward, head of Shearman & Sterling’s European finance practice, said in the release.

New York-based Shearman & Sterling is a law firm specializing in major corporations, financial institutions and government entities.
