Nortel Networks eyes approval of claim settlement with Deka Immobilien

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., April 18 - Nortel Networks Inc. asked the court to approve a stipulation with Deka Immobilien Investment GmbH, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

A hearing is scheduled for May 24.

Deka filed a general unsecured claim for about $2.44 million in September 2009 for unpaid rent related to an office lease agreement with Nortel for the property at 2325 Dulles Corner Blvd., Herndon, Va.

In addition, Deka filed an administrative claim for $686.

The stipulation will give Deka an allowed general claim of $2.4 million and an administrative claim of $817.

Nortel, a Brampton, Ont.-based manufacturer and supplier of telecommunications networking equipment, filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 14, 2009. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-10138.
