National Semiconductor investor sells 3.85 million shares

Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 9 - National Semiconductor Corp. investors led by Relational Investors, LLC reduced their stake in the company to 10.96% from 12.63% with the sale of 3,848,600 shares.

According to a schedule 13D/A filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the shares were sold between Dec. 19 and Jan. 8 at prices from $9.74 to $11.25 each.

Between Dec. 15 and Dec. 18, Relational Investors sold 4,069,165 shares, a prior SEC filing said.

Relational Investors beneficially own 25,131,618 shares of the Santa Clara, Calif., semiconductor products company.
