Blum Capital ups its stake in MoneyGram

Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 23 - Blum Capital Partners, LP and its affiliates increased their equity stake in MoneyGram International, Inc. to 14.2% from 12.9% with the purchase of an additional 1,700 shares of the company's stock on Jan. 18 and Jan. 22, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The shares were priced from $4.21 to $4.23 each.

It was previously reported that the investors bought a total of 2,503,000 shares at prices ranging from $5.0078 to $5.4522 on Jan. 16 and Jan. 17.

The investors own 11.73 million shares of the Minneapolis-based payment services company's outstanding stock.
