MML Series Investment Fund to liquidate five funds

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Jan. 17 - Shareholders of five of the 26 funds comprising the MML Series Investment Fund approved a plan of liquidation and a sixth one changed its investment objective.

According to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the MML Asset Allocation Fund, MML Concentrated Growth Fund, MML Emerging Growth Fund, MML Nasdaq-100 Fund and the MML Small Cap Index Fund will be liquidated on April 27.

Liquidation proceeds will be distributed to the appropriate MassMutual or C.M. Life Insurance Co. separate accounts invested in the funds, the filing noted.

The filing also said that the MML Income and Growth Fund will change its investment objective to seek long-term total return and current income. In addition, the investment objective and strategies will now be non-fundamental and may be changed without shareholder approval.

Previously, the investment objective stated that the fund would seek growth of capital, with income as a secondary objective, and that any change in the objective must be approved by shareholders.

Springfield, Mass.-based Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. is the funds' investment adviser.
