Minrad's Light Sabre line of procedure needles awarded CE Mark

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 11 - Minrad International, Inc. received CE Mark approval for its Light Sabre line of disposable procedure needles, allowing the company to market the line throughout the European Union.

The company said the Light Sabre products, in conjunction with the SabreSource real-time image guidance system, provide physicians with accuracy during minimally invasive procedures through the alignment of light beams and specialized collimating tubes.

The Light Sabre line also meets the international quality requirements of ISO 13485:2003 and the Canadian Medical Devices Conformity Assessment System.

Minrad is an interventional pain-management company based in Orchard Park, N.Y.
