Loeb Partners sells shares of Mercer Insurance

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 7 - Investors led by Loeb Partners Corp. sold 19,231 shares of Mercer Insurance Group Inc. stock between July 12 and Sept. 4 priced from $17.70 to $19.89 each.

Loeb reported the transactions in a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The reporting persons own 320,095 shares, or 4.88%, of the Pennington, N.J.-based insurance company.

Loeb may engage in discussions with management or the company's board of directors about the business and Mercer's future, the filing stated.

On July 13, Loeb reported the initial purchase of 339,326 shares of the company's stock between May 31 and July 11, priced at an average of $18.40 to $20.04 per share, for a 5.17% stake in the company.
