Warburg Pincus owns 30.44% of MBIA

Charlotte, N.C., March 13 - Warburg Pincus Private Equity X, LP reported the purchase of 2,610,097 shares of MBIA Inc. for approximately $8.18 million in a schedule 13D/A filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The shares were acquired between March 9 and March 12, a prior SEC filing said.

Warburg Pincus beneficially owns 71,486,898 shares, or 30.44%, of the Armonk, N.Y., holding company's outstanding stock.

MBIA's subsidiaries provide financial guarantee insurance, fixed-income asset management and other specialized financial services.
