Malaysia's Maybank redeems RM 610 million of subordinated bonds

New York, May 16 - Malayan Banking Bhd. redeemed the entire RM 610 million remaining of its subordinated bonds due 2011, according to a statement filed by lead arranger Aseambankers Malaysia Bhd.

The bonds, issued in May 2001, were non-callable for five years.

The Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia-based Maybank is the largest bank and financial group in Malaysia.
