Moody's assigns Maybank program A3

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned its provisional A3 long-term foreign currency senior unsecured debt rating to Malayan Banking Bhd.'s $5 billion multicurrency medium term note program.

The rating is in line with Maybank's A3 foreign currency deposit rating.

The rating was assigned in the context of Maybank issuing, up to a maximum aggregate of $5 billion, long-term foreign currency debt obligations through the note program. The notes will be unconditional, unsubordinated and unsecured obligations, and will rank pari passu with all of Maybank's other senior unsecured obligations.
