S&P gives A+ to Clark County, Nev., aviation bonds

Standard & Poor's said it assigned an A+ long-term rating to the Clark County Department of Aviation, Nev.'s approximately $365 million of airport system subordinate lien revenue bonds, series 2008A, 2008B and 2008E, and the department's $150 million of passenger facility charge revenue bonds, series 2008A, issued on behalf of the Clark County Airport System, which includes the Las Vegas McCarren International Airport.

S&P also said it assigned an AAA long-term rating and A+ underlying rating to the department's $646 million of series 2008C and 2008D subordinate lien bonds.

At the same time, S&P said it affirmed the AA- rating on the department's $220.8 million of senior lien debt, the A+ rating on the department's $1.4 billion of subordinate lien debt and its A rating on the department's $101 million of jet aviation fuel tax bonds.
