Guggenheim Series 879 registers International Dividend Strategy units

Minneapolis, March 16 - Guggenheim Defined Portfolios, Series 879 registered units of its Guggenheim International Dividend Strategy Portfolio, Series 15, according to an S-6 filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The depositor is Lisle, Ill.-based Guggenheim Funds Distributors, Inc.

The trust will seek to provide total return primarily through capital appreciation and dividend income by investing in a diversified portfolio of international equity securities listed on the major public U.S. securities exchanges. The trust's strategy is to capture international growth potential while applying dividend income to counterbalance global economic volatility and to potentially insulate the trust from further potential domestic slowdown.

The trust will terminate in about 15 months.
