Guggenheim Defined Portfolios series 848 registers Zacks Income units

San Diego, Nov. 15 - Guggenheim Defined Portfolios, Series 848 has registered units of its Zacks Income Advantage Strategy Portfolio (2-Year), Series 1, according to an S-6 filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The depositor is Lisle, Ill.-based Guggenheim Funds Distributors, Inc.

The trust seeks to provide current income with the potential for capital appreciation by investing in a portfolio that was selected with the assistance of Zacks & Co.

The portfolio will be comprised of common shares of closed-end investment companies (10%), common stocks/American Depositary Receipts (30%), master limited partnerships (17.5%), real estate investment trusts (20%) and stocks of oil/energy-related companies or companies created to hold investments in their operating companies or cash flows (22.5%).

The $10 units will carry a sales charge that is estimated to be 3.95% and consists of a 1% initial sales fee, a 2.45% deferred sales fee and a 0.5% creation and development fee. Sales charge reductions of up to 1.5% of the offering price will be available on a scale based on the amount of investment.

The trust's inception date is expected to be in 2011 and its termination date in 2013.
