Mizuho set to redeem ¥274.5 billion perpetual preferreds on June 30

Olympia, Wash., May 15 – Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. plans to redeem in full its ¥274.5 billion non-cumulative perpetual preferred securities issued by Mizuho Capital Investment (JPY) 2 Ltd., according to a notice.

The preferreds will be redeemed on June 30, which is the first dividend payment date. Also, the dividend rate is scheduled to reset to a floating level from its current fixed rate on June 30.

Mizuho is a Tokyo-based financial institution.
