Icahn sells more shares of Greenbrier

Charlotte, N.C., July 14 - Carl Icahn and affiliate ARI Longtrain Inc. cut their stake in Greenbrier Cos., Inc. to 6.77% from 8.17% with the sale of 405,803 shares of the company's stock.

The shares were sold between June 13 and July 14 priced from $21.79 to $22.20 each, it was reported in a schedule 13D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Ichan beneficially owns 1,124,197 shares of the Lake Oswego, Ore., railcar manufacturer.

In June, Ichan dropped talks with Greenbrier regarding a potential business combination with his American Railcar Industries, Inc., according to a previous SEC filing.
