Icahn sells shares of Greenbrier, keeps 8.17% ownership interest

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., June 20 - Carl Icahn reported the sale of 193,043 shares of Greenbrier Cos., Inc. in a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The shares were priced from $21.65 to $22.20 each and sold between June 13 and June 19, the filing said.

Following the sale, Ichan beneficially owns 1,336,957 shares, or 8.17%, of the Lake Oswego, Ore., railcar manufacturer.

Ichan dropped talks with Greenbrier regarding a potential business combination with his American Railcar Industries, Inc. citing "certain unresolved issues," according to a previous SEC filing.
