Diedrich shareholder Gamco buys 424,119 shares, reports 7.41% stake

Charlotte, N.C., Dec. 18 - Diedrich Coffee, Inc. investors led by Gamco Asset Management Inc. bought 424,119 shares of the company's stock between Nov. 3 and Dec. 17 priced from $25.68 to $35.08 each, according to a schedule 13D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday.

The shares give Gamco beneficial ownership of 7.41% of the Irvine, Calif., specialty coffee roaster, wholesaler and retailer.

As previously reported, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc., a Waterbury, Vt.-based specialty coffee company, began a $35.00-per-share cash tender offer for all the outstanding shares of Diedrich on Dec. 11. The offer ends at midnight ET on Jan. 11.
