Banco Comercial Portugues buys back €2.25 billion floating-rate notes

Madison, Wis., Oct. 2 – Banco Comercial Portugues, SA said it repurchased and canceled its €750 million of outstanding floating-rate notes due Dec. 5, 2014 and its €1.5 billion of floating-rate notes due Feb. 17, 2017.
The Lisbon-based bank originally issued €2.75 billion of the 2014 notes and €1.5 billion of the 2017 notes.
Both series of notes were guaranteed by the Portuguese government.
