British Telecom announces £2 million buyback of fixed notes due 2016

Kansas City, Kan., Sept. 20 - British Telecommunications plc repurchased £2 million of its fixed-rate notes due Dec. 7, 2016, according to a notice.

The repurchase was effective Thursday.

Following the repurchase, £687 million of the notes remain outstanding.

British Telecom is an Internet and phone services company based in London.
