S&P goes positive on Greece
S&P said it improved its outlook on Greece to positive from stable and affirmed its BBB- ratings.
“Following the reelection of the New Democracy (ND) administration last year, the government has outlined and begun implementing a robust reform agenda aimed at unblocking structural bottlenecks that hamper economic competitiveness. Greece's longstanding key problem areas that have seen limited progress thus far, such as legal and health reforms, now have credible implementation plans due to be rolled out,” the agency said in a press release.
S&P said it expects a reduction in the government debt ratio and growth that will best its eurozone peers.
