Great Plains Energy to make special distribution on corporate units

By Angela McDaniels

Tacoma, Wash., March 20 - Great Plains Energy Inc. will make a one-time special distribution to the holders of its corporate units, according to a company news release.

The amount of the distribution is $0.00115 per unit. It will be made on Thursday to holders of record as of Monday.

The distribution is being paid in connection with excess proceeds generated from a remarketing of the notes underlying the units.

Great Plains Energy is based in Kansas City, Mo. It is the holding company of Kansas City Power & Light Co. and KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Co., two regulated providers of electricity.
