Global X re-launches Nasdaq China Technology exchange-traded fund

By Tali David

Minneapolis, Dec. 13 - Global X Funds re-launched its Global X Nasdaq China Technology exchange-traded fund, according to a press release.

Global X said that the exchange-traded fund tracks the Nasdaq OMX China technology index, which is designed to track the performance of the technology sector in China. As of Dec. 12, the three largest components of the index were ASM Pacific Techno, Lenovo Group, and Baidu, Inc, the company said.

The fund was previously called the Global X China Technology ETF. Its ticker has changed to "QQQC" on Nasdaq from the previous "CHIB" on NYSE Arca.

"China is driving its efficient manufacturing and rapidly expanding consumer base into higher value, technology-based products and services," Global X Management CEO Bruno del Ama said in the release.

Global X is a New York-based provider of exchange-traded funds.
