Soros and affiliates separate Global Ship Lease units, report ownership of 3.75 million shares plus warrants

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 29 - Global Ship Lease, Inc. investors led by Soros Strategic Partners LP separated 3.75 million units into 3.75 million shares and 3.75 million warrants on Sept. 24.

Each unit consisted of one share and one warrant to purchase one share of Global Ship Lease at $6.00 per share, said a schedule 13D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The warrants will expire on Sept. 1, 2013, according to the filing.

Soros and its affiliates beneficially own 7.50 million shares, or 20.15% of the New York-based company.

Global Ship Lease owns and charters containerships to container liner companies.
