Global Home Products hearing on termination of benefits for former workers rescheduled to July 12

New York, July 2 - Global Home Products, LLC's hearing on the approval of the termination of retiree benefits for some of its former salaried employees has been rescheduled to July 12 from July 2 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, according to a source familiar with the case.

The source noted that there needed to be further documentation.

As previously reported, the company is seeking to terminate benefits for former salaried employees of its Anchor Hocking CG Operating Co. LLC, Anchor Hocking Operating Co. LLC and the Burnes of Boston division.

Specifically, retiree benefits for the non-union salaried retirees would be terminated effective June 30.

The former employees' ongoing health care benefits also would be terminated effective July 1, and requests for payment or reimbursement of health care expenses incurred before July 1 would be due Dec. 31.

Global Home Products is a Westerville, Ohio-based designer, marketer and manufacturer of branded consumer and specialty products to retail and hospitality customers and original equipment manufacturers. The company filed for bankruptcy on April 10, 2006. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-10430.
