American Capital names Dean Anderson to lead Special Situations Group in Chicago

Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 17 - American Capital Strategies Ltd. named Dean Anderson as managing director in the Special Situations Group. He will build a team of investment professionals in the company's Chicago office.

Anderson has 12 years of investment and acquisition experience in the turnaround and distressed arena, previously serving as managing director of Questor Management Co., according to a company news release.

Since 2005, the Special Situations Group has invested $290 million in six portfolio companies, including $100 million in the fourth quarter of 2006.

American Capital is a publicly traded alternative asset manager based in Bethesda, Md.
