The American Bankruptcy Institute elects Friedland, Cerone as directors

Pittsburgh, May 3 - The American Bankruptcy Institute elected Jonathan P. Friedland of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Rudy J. Cerone of McGlinchey Stafford, PLLC to three-year terms on its board of directors.

An active member since 1995, Friedland participates on the advisory board for ABI's Law Review and is a contributing editor to the ABI Journal.

Friedland is a partner in Kirkland & Ellis' restructuring group. He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1994.

An active member since 1997, Cerone currently is co-chair of the bankruptcy litigation committee and participates on ABI's health care and business reorganization committees.

Cerone is a member of the firm's commercial litigation section, with primary emphasis in the areas of business bankruptcy and commercial litigation.

He was named to be a fellow of the American Bankruptcy College in 2001 and is certified as a specialist in business bankruptcy law by both the American Board of Certification, of which he served as president in 2004, and chairman of the board of directors in 2005.

Cerone is also a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association Board of Legal Specialization. He received his J.D. with honors from Boston College in 1979.

ABI is an Alexandria, Va., multi-disciplinary, nonpartisan organization dedicated to research and education on insolvency matters.
