By Sara Rosenberg

New York, April 10 - CIT Group Inc. named Mark R. Affolter, managing director, Thomas R. Hobbis, director, Eric L. Toizer, managing director, and Peter R. White, managing director, to CIT Global Sponsor Finance, a unit that provides sophisticated financing and advisory services to middle-market clients, according to a news release.

In their new roles, Affolter, Hobbis, Toizer and White will pursue middle market buyout financings with private equity groups. Affolter will work to build the company's presence in the Midwest sponsor community, Hobbis will focus on private equity firms in New York City, Pennsylvania and the Southeast, Toizer will drive origination and execution of buyout financings for private equity sponsors on the west coast and White will build a team in Boston for private equity firms in New England.

Previously, Affolter was senior managing director of GE Global Sponsor Finance, where he led a middle-market sponsor coverage team, marketing leveraged finance products to private equity sponsors.

Hobbis was previously part of ING Capital's Acquisition Finance Group, where he covered middle-market private equity firms in the Northeast.

Toizer was previously a managing director at BNP Paribas in charge of leveraged buyout financing and equity co-investments with financial sponsor firms.

And, White was previously a managing director and senior originator at GE's Global Sponsor Finance group where he was responsible for large cap private equity funds in the Boston market.
