Imperial Capital hires O'Connor to lead corporate finance/restructuring advisory services in New York

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, March 29 - Imperial Capital, LLC hired Timothy P. O'Connor as a managing director and as head of Imperial Capital's investment banking efforts in the firm's New York office, according to a Wednesday news release.

Imperial Capital said hiring O'Connor will give it a presence in New York with a focus on growing its corporate finance/restructuring advisory service as well as its high-yield sales and trading and equity business.

O'Connor comes to Imperial from Jefferies & Co., where he was a managing director in the recapitalization and restructuring group.

Before that, he was head of restructuring at Raymond James and Associates and chief financial officer of Kaiser Group International Inc., where he led the company's restructuring.

O'Connor has also held senior positions with General Electric and Lazard Freres and Co. and has extensive corporate finance and restructuring experience.

O'Connor has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Delaware.

Imperial Capital is a full-service investment bank with offices in New York and Beverly Hills, Calif.
