Bear Stearns hires Henry Tsang and David Cheng to Asian team

New York, July 12 - Bear Stearns has hired Henry Tsang and David Cheng to join the firm's Asian team.

Tsang has been named as senior managing director and president of Bear Stearns Asia Ltd. In this capacity, he will help oversee the firm's overall Asian operations and will run the firm's Asia Investment Banking Group.

Prior to joining Bear Stearns, Tsang co-founded private equity firm Search Asian Mezzanine Capital, which was sponsored by Search Investment Group.

He was the head of investment banking at BOC International, Bank of China's securities operation.

Tsang was also previously with Bear Stearns from 1996 to 2002.

Cheng joins from Citic Capital Markets, where he was the co-head of investment banking. Prior to that, Cheng was the co-head of investment banking at BOC International.

Both will be based in Hong Kong.
