International Assets expands debt capital markets team

By Reshmi Basu

New York, June 2 - International Assets Holding Corp. said it has added to its emerging markets team in London and Florida.

The company said the additions would help leverage its existing debt trading team.

The team has recruited Dino Skandalis, Steve Swords and Steve Hefft to establish a debt capital markets business focused on emerging Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Previously, Skandalis headed up the emerging market debt-related global product teams for Standard Chartered Bank, Standard Bank London and Banco Santander.

Swords was previously with Standard Bank London where he was responsible for originating emerging market debt and secondary market trading.

Hefft spent five years with Standard Bank London in Dubai where he was responsible for developing the emerging market debt business in the Middle East.

Another addition to the team is Alessandro Colitto. He has more than 10 years experience in the origination and structuring of asset-backed and project finance deals. Colitto worked with Harris Nesbit Corp. where he was the head of the international securitization group. He has also worked at Petroleos Mexicanos, Mexico's oil company, and the Mexican ministry of finance.
