International Assets expands emerging markets debt team

By Reshmi Basu

New York, May 24 - International Assets Holding Corp. said it has added to its emerging markets trading team in New York and will expand its trading capability to London, subject to regulatory approval.

Bruce Goodwin will head up the trading desk in London. He has nearly 20 years experience in the eurobond market and has spent 10 years with S.G. Warburg and four years each with Chase Investment Bank and Credit Suisse Securities.

Also, Dave Korb will trade emerging market corporate bonds in New York. He has previously worked at HSBC, Bank of America and ING Barings.

Leslie Hand joins the team as a sales person. She was previously at Citigroup on the distressed and emerging market sales desk and prior to that spent five years working in Russia as a consultant.

"Expanding our debt trading capability into the European time zone has been a strategic priority and should significantly expand the scope of this business," said Sean O'Connor, chief executive officer, in a news release.

The company has filed an application with the Financial Services Authority for a U.K. branch license for its U.S.-based broker-dealer.
