Paul Hastings brings in Tenzer as restructuring partner in N.Y. office

By Tali Rackner

Norfolk, Va., March 17 - Paul Hastings LLP announced that Andrew Tenzer has joined the firm's restructuring practice as a partner in the New York office, according to a press release.

Tenzer joins from Shearman & Sterling, where he was a partner. His practice is focused on representing debtors and creditors in Chapter 11 cases and cross-border restructurings and on advising buyers and sellers of the assets of financially distressed companies. He also has substantial experience in non-insolvency-related syndicated financings, securitizations and structured finance transactions, the release said. Tenzer is the former chairman of the New York City Bar Association's Bankruptcy & Reorganization Division's Committee on Cross-Border Restructurings and Chapter 15.

"The bankruptcy market may be headed for a cyclical upward trend, and Andrew's skill set and expertise will allow the firm to help a range of clients against this evolving background," Luc Despins, chair of the global restructuring practice, said in the release.

"For nearly two decades, Andrew has focused on serving banks in restructuring and bankruptcy matters, on debtor-side representations and on handling both the corporate and litigation aspects of bankruptcy. Andrew's practice specialty is particularly valuable in the new, more deal-focused bankruptcy workouts."

Paul Hastings is a law firm based in Los Angeles. It has offices in Asia, Europe and the United States.
