EGene seeks distributors for genetic analyzer

By Angela McDaniels

Seattle, Feb. 1 - eGene Inc. is seeking distributors in North America, according to a company news release.

"We have been receiving a number of inquiries about our system as a result of more and more uses for genetic testing. In order to respond to those inquiries, we believe it would be to our benefit to establish a network of distributors," president and chief executive officer Ming Liu said in the release.

The Irvine, Calif.-based biotechnology company said it has shipped more than 130 units of its genetic analyzer, the HDA-GT12, since its introduction in mid 2004.

The device is used for a variety of genotyping applications in human, animal, plant and bacterial samples.
