Duke Energy Ohio intends to issue first mortgage bonds due 2030

Knoxville, Tenn., May 18 – Duke Energy Ohio, Inc. intends to offer first mortgage bonds due June 1, 2030, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes feature a make-whole call until March 1, 2030 and then a par call.

Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC and PNC Capital Markets LLC are the bookrunners.

Proceeds will be used to repay short-term debt and for general corporate purposes.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based company generates, transmits, distributes and sells electricity and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Duke Energy Corp.
