Diamond Glass asks court to extend exclusive plan-filing period to Nov. 28

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 30 - Diamond Glass, Inc. requested court approval to extend its exclusive plan of reorganization filing period to Nov. 28, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The exclusive plan-filing period was set to expire on July 30.

The company is also asking the court to extend its exclusive plan vote solicitation period to Jan. 27 from Sept. 26.

Diamond Glass said it has been focused on securing debtor-in-possession financing and completing the sale of substantially all of its assets, so the company has not had time to formulate a plan within the current exclusivity periods.

The company also cited the size and complexity of its bankruptcy case.

A hearing is scheduled for Aug. 15.

Diamond Glass, a Kingston, Pa., automotive glass replacement and repair company, filed for bankruptcy on April 1. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-10601.
