Southeastern Asset Management wants to improve Dillard's governance

Charlotte, N.C., March 19 - Investors led by Southeastern Asset Management, Inc. have discussed ways to build shareholder value with Dillard's, Inc. as well as with third parties, it was reported in a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Southeastern is specifically seeking to improve Dillard's governance, management and capital allocation, the filing stated.

The investors, with a 12.9% stake in the company, may have future discussions with the company and other shareholders about Dillard's business.

Dillard's is a Little Rock, Ark.-based fashion apparel and home furnishings retailer.
