deCODE files suit against five former employees

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 26 - deCODE genetics filed suit in the U.S. District Court in Philadelphia against five former employees alleging misappropriation of trade secrets and intellectual property, as well as breach of non-competition and non-solicitation provisions of employment agreements.

All five were recruited by, and at least four are currently employed by, the Center for Applied Genomics, a business unit of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, another defendant in the case.

deCODE has been granted temporary restraining orders to prevent destruction of evidence, although the Reykjavik, Iceland human genetics company believes some evidence has already been destroyed.
