Alamo Drafthouse seeks another extension of exclusive plan periods

By Sarah Lizee

Olympia, Wash., Sept. 29 – Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas Holdings, LLC is seeking another extension of its exclusive periods to file and solicit votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a motion filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, the company asked the court to extend the plan filing period through Nov. 29 from Sept. 29 and the solicitation period through Jan. 28, 2022 from Nov. 29.

The company said that given the complexity associated with simultaneously administering the debtors’ Chapter 11 cases, marketing their assets, continuing to operate the debtors’ business in the ordinary course and consummating sales, the debtors have had insufficient time to negotiate a plan.

“The debtors believe that, in light of the debtors’ progress in these Chapter 11 cases to maximize value for the benefit of stakeholders, it is reasonable and appropriate that the debtors are granted additional time to bring these Chapter 11 cases to a conclusion,” the company said.

A hearing is scheduled for Oct. 14.

The Austin, Tex.-based dine-in movie theater chain filed bankruptcy on March 3 under Chapter 11 case number 21-10474.
