Avianca reports $83.54 million operating loss for March period

Olympia, Wash., May 18 – Avianca Holdings SA reported an $83.54 million operating loss on $126.25 million of total operating revenues for March, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

In comparison, the company posted a $66.78 million operating loss on $112.14 million of total operating revenues for February.

The net loss for the March period was $135.06 million, compared to a $101.17 million net loss in February.

The company listed $855.64 million in cash and cash equivalents as of March 31, compared to $916.09 million at the end of February.

Avianca is a Bogota, Colombia-based airline holding company that filed bankruptcy on May 10, 2020. The Chapter 11 case number is 20-11133.
