Fitch lifts Ameren Illinois, rates notes A-

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an A- rating to Ameren Illinois Co.'s new 4.3% $250 million issuance of senior secured notes due July 1, 2044.

The outlook is stable.

The new notes will rank pari passu with Ameren Illinois’ existing senior secured obligations. Net proceeds will be used to repay short-term debt.

On March 14, Fitch upgraded Ameren Illinois’ long-term issuer default rating to BBB from BBB-.

Fitch said the upgrade reflects increased regulatory predictability, robust financial performance, elevated but manageable capex and ample access to liquidity.
